I was recently introduced to Natural Vitality when they contacted me and offered to send a couple products for me to review. If you aren’t familiar with Natural Vitality, they produce a high-quality line of supplements, a number of which are not only vegan, but also organic, gluten-free and certified non-GMO — a combination I was happy to find!
Vitality B Complex. Aiding the health of the brain, blood and nervous system, vitamin B12 is a non-negotiable. It’s the only supplement that I take with any regularity, and I take one every single weekday. Because of the importance of B12, along with the other B vitamins, I was excited about receiving a bottle of Vitality B Complex.
Natural Vitality calls their Vitality B and C Complexes “foodiceuticals” because they “come from plants grown in rich soil…and contain nutrients and cofactors as they exist in nature.” To be on the safe side, it’s unlikely that I will stop taking my sublingual B12 tablet, but I love the spectrum (and natural origin) of important B vitamins that this supplement contains.
Natural Calm. Natural Calm, the Anti-Stress Drink, is a relaxing magnesium supplement that “balances your calcium intake and restores healthy magnesium levels.” Magnesium is one of those micronutrients I don’t typically give a lot of thought to. Though you don’t need much, it plays a vital roll in protein synthesis, muscular contraction, and heart, gut and bone health, among other things. Maintaining the right magnesium-to-calcium ratio also enables you to better de-stress.
I was provided with an 8-ounce jar of Natural Calm in raspberry-lemon, as well as a sample pack that contained all the flavors: raspberry-lemon, lemon, orange, cherry and natural. On it’s own (which is not how it is intended to be consumed), the powdery supplement reminded me of Pixy Stix, which I thought was fun. It’s intended to be blended with water for a fizzy drink. Sweetened with stevia, I found all except the lemon flavor to be a tad too sweet to drink with water alone, but I enjoyed them all mixed with a juice or smoothie. If you’re feeling a little tense, it’s a nice way to help yourself unwind.
I will leave it up to you and your medical/nutritional professional to decide which vitamins and supplements you should be taking (except for B12 — if you are vegan, please be sure to take a B12 supplement!). But once you know what you need, consider giving Natural Vitality a look. In addition to the above, the items listed below round out their current vegan offerings:
